Skirt? Pink Tartan, Winners
Tank? Majestic, Winners
Purse? Thrifted
Shoes? Derek Lam, Holt Renfrew Last Call
Bracelets? The crazy lady at The Ex.
Hairband? ?, some department store in Paris. It stays put really well
.

This outfit is the cousin of this outfit. You know, the cousin from the side of the family you actually talk to; a cool cousin. Hard shell purse plus pleats of silver embroidery... I absolutely love this skirt and I've lamented before that I don't wear it enough but when I do, I feel very ladylike. Don't expect any eye contact while I wear this skirt, I'm much too busy looking down and petting the sharp, pretty pleats.

Matt's managing a big reforestation/naturalization job in the area and he told me it would be a perfect spot for outfit pictures. It's cool to get a glimpse into what Matt does in order for us to afford our luxurious lifestyle. Thanks to him the cats eat Science Diet... No Name kibble is not good enough for those precious felines.
The site we were taking pictures at is huge and Matt kept wanting me to check out what they were doing here, there and everywhere and there I am tripping after him like a little girl in Mama's heels. I appreciate his enthusiasm but my ankles did not.

FIRST COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now I'm overwhelmed because I usually stalk your new posts a couple times before I comment because I like to make sure I live up to the Merl sass and wit.. I feel like I'm in the nakid classroom dream, and you're the teacher wearing the gorgeous pleated skirt that I would love to rip off your body to cover my own birthday suit wearing self. ooor maybe that's my not so subconcious saying MAMA WANT.

Ps.. you make me want to own tiny shell purses.

ppsss.. I'll be funnier next time.

hahaha - I love your writing :). And I love this outfit! Perfect mixing of neutrals with metallics and grounding it all with the brown clogs - genius and such chic styling! Did I already mention that I love it? :)

What an absolutely gorgeous skirt!!! It's very structured and you paired it so well with the flowy top. How sweet that your man thought up a fun place to take your photos! It's very cool.

I came over here expecting to see track pants.... :D

This outfit is one of my favorites yet! I am completely coveting my blogging neighbor's skirt and shoes and purse and bracelets.

I'm so glad I got a mention in this post "cool cousin..." Hahaha.
I've told you before how much I love this skirt and I'll say it again. Friggen Love IT. Whenever you're sick of looking down at those pretty pleats send it on my way ;)
Well done yet again!

Both cousins are drop-dead gorgeous (as are you in them). Also, I can't believe you found Pink Tartan at Winners. My Winners sucks.

And finally, anytime you want to switch lives with me, I. Am. In. But "lives" in this context means "closets."

Pretty, indeed! If I owned this skirt, I'm pretty sure I'd try to wear it every day. I love it with the casual tank and the armful of bangles!

I'm late on the comment train, but I couldn't not tell you how much I love this. The sharp pleats are incredible, and when combined with the headband and those heels you're very nearly unstoppable.

I've been spending a part of my lunch time catching up on some of your older posts and I must say that this is one of my favorite outfits ever. I seriously want to wear it everywhere. I really love the casualness of the tank with the kick-ass-edness (real word) of the skirt and the shoes. That plus the hair makes an amazing look.

I'm extremely happy that I starting checking out your site. I made a comment on my own blog that I was still a bit scared to wear heels since I'm pushing 6 feet and I always felt uncomfortably giant-like wearing them and Lesley over at glittersrubs said that you rocked the heels and were a tally like me. I'm so glad I followed her advice and caught some glimpses of your shoes/ outfits/ personality/ life – they’re all great.
